How to make a audio or video file smaller

How to make a audio or video file smaller

(Academy)

On a computer:

  1. Download and install Handbrake.

  2. Open it and click File → Open Source to select your video.

  3. In the Preset sidebar, choose “Fast 720p30” (good balance of quality and size).

  4. Under the Video tab:

    • Set Video Codec to H.264 (x264).

    • Adjust Constant Quality to around 22–26 (higher = smaller file, but lower quality).

  5. Choose an output folder and click Start Encode.

  6. Once done, upload the new compressed video to Agilix Buzz.

Notes

Tip: If your video is still too large, reduce:

  • Resolution (e.g., 1080p → 720p or 480p)

  • Frame rate (e.g., 60fps → 30fps)

  • Audio bitrate (e.g., 160 kbps → 96 kbps)

  1. Open your audio file in Audacity.

  2. Go to File → Export → Export as MP3 (or M4A).

  3. In the options:

    • Bitrate Mode: Choose Constant or Average.

    • Bitrate: 96 kbps or 128 kbps for speech; 192 kbps for music.

  4. Export and upload the smaller file to Buzz.
